Flatbed Scanner

The Department of Human Services has made a Statement of Assurance to provide comparable access for individuals with disabilities. In compliance with the ADA, which makes it unlawful to discriminate in employment against a qualified individual with a disability, employers must reasonably accommodate the disabilities of qualified applicants or employees, unless undue hardship would result.

  • BIT will set standards for assistive devices.
  • Telecommunications will set standards for the support of devices.
  • Bureau of Personnel will set standards for training employees with disabilities in the use of standard devices.

This technology will be applied to individual computers as new technology. This technology will be available to all employees requiring assistive technology.

Minimum Specifications:

  • Scanner is compatible with all additional hardware and software standards.
  • Scanner must have an optical resolution of at least 1200 dpi.
  • Scanner must have a bit depth of 24 bits.
  • Scanner must support the following formats for images: TIFF, BMP, JPEG, PNG, TXT, RTF, PDF.
  • Scanner must have a USB 3 interface.
  • Scanner must have 512MB of RAM.
  • Scanner must support duplex scanning via the ADF.
  • Scanner must have a 50-page automatic document feeder.
  • Scanner must be compatible with Windows 7, Windows 8.x, and Windows 10.
  • Scanner must be Energy Star 4.0 or better certified.
  • Scanner must come with a 1 year limited manufacturer's warranty.

Desirable Specifications:

  • Manufacturer has toll free Tech Support, Internet access, and E-mail support.
